Abstract

PHARMACOGNOSTIC EVALUATION OF PHOENIX DACTILYFERA ON HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA INDUCED BY DIETHYLNITROSAMINE IN A RODENT MODEL

ABSTRACT

Phoenix dactylifera has been known for a lot of beneficial properties such as antioxidant, antihyperlidimic but there is a lack of research which explores the benefits of it to the liver. Thus physical benefits of Phoenix dactylifera to the liver are evaluated to assess the hepato cellular carcinoma inhibitory impacts, and other helpful properties in a rodent model of diethylnitrosamine initiated liver tumor. Methods: Eighteen male rats were separated into three gatherings of six each group, Group A: control, Group B: Diethylnitrosamine+ control, Group C: Diethylnitrosamine + Phoenix dactilyfera( 0.5 g/kg ). Rats from all gatherings were surveyed for liver malignancy movement or restraint by assessing qualitatively, antioxidant catalyst status and liver enzymes. Results: Date palm treated group C showed some inhibitory impacts on hepatic cells as compared to diethylnitrosamine treated group B. Cancer prevention agents, for example superoxide dismutase, glutathione reductase and glutatione peroxidase were expanded, while the liver catalysts alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and basic phosphatase levels were altogether diminished in Group C contrasted with Group B. Conclusions: Phoenix dactylifera helped in the inversion of diethylnitrosamine harmed liver towards typical. Its treatment demonstrates that Phoenix dactylifera enhances liver capacity and hinders Hepatocellular carcinoma. In this manner, It can be utilized together with traditional therapeutics for hepato cellular carcinoma.
