ABSTRACT

The e-pharmacy is the latest advance technology creating huge demand in the upcoming days in India. Online pharmacy operates through internet and sends the orders to customers through mail or shipping companies. It is very easy and convenient to buy drugs online, but there is high risk of self medication and misuse of drugs especially the schedule H and X. Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules, 1945; Pharmacy Act, 1948; Indian Medical Act, 1956 and Code of Ethics Regulations, 2002 etc are various regulatory bodies which governs pharmacies in India. Regulatory authorities finds it very difficult to control, monitor and track sell of drugs via internet due to lack of proper and clear guidelines in India. e-pharmacy may be proved to be dangerous in near future, if not regulated properly and certain measures should be taken immediately to avoid misuse of e-pharmacy.
