Abstract

CHEMICAL-QUANTUM CHARACTERIZATION OF THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN GLUCOSE AND SIX SODIUM-GLUCOSE LINKED TRANSPORTERS, USING THE THEORY OF ELECTRON TRANSFER COEFFICIENT

ABSTRACT

Sodium-Glucose Linked Transporter (SGTL) are transporters that couple the entry of Na+ and Glucose (GLU). This entry is carried out in favor of the Na+ electrochemical gradient and against the gradient of these monomers. The objective of this work was to characterize the interactions between GLU and SGTL using chemical-quantum methods in order to propose new mechanisms of actions. An ASUS brand computer was used, Intel Inside core i7. Quad-core x 4. RAM 16. The Software Hyperchem Professional performs Molecular modeling. SE-PM3 is a program for molecular modeling used by scientists to analyze the quantum composition of molecules for HOMO-LUMO, and the theory of Eletron Transfer Coefficient (ETC). The characterization and sequencing of Amnio-Acids (AAs) of six SGTLs; Leu is the AA in greater quantity in the six SGTLs. His is the AA that is presented in less quantity in five of the six SGTLs. Lys is presented in smaller quantity in the SGTL5. Pearson correlation between the abundance of AA for each SGTL is very high. We found that: The Leu is the AA in greater quantity in the six SGTL. The Lys is presented in smaller quantity in the SGTL5. Pearson's correlation of abundance is very high between them and their ETCs as pure AAs. Three of the results of the horizontal Pearson correlation were: A) His vs. Ala in six SGTL showed a coefficient of 0.907. B) Arg vs. Gly had a coefficient of 0.957.C) Met vs. Tyr had a coefficient of 0.946. It can also be said that carnosine, together with the other two dipeptides have a determining role in the transport of GLU. Na+ is the electromotive force that pushes the GLU for its transfer through the cell membrane.
