ABSTRACT
According to Ayurveda there are three sub pillars of life i.e. Ahara,
Nidra and Bramhacharya. Ayurveda always said that prevention is
better than cure and Ahara is having more importance than others. If
we take Ahara according to Aharvidhivisheshayatana (Rules of dietary
intake), it stays away diseases while improper dietary patterns will lead
to pathological conditions. As Ayurveda described Ahara is having
importance in healthy life further Ayurveda described about Viruddha
Ahara (incompatible foods) which is main cause for pathological
conditions. Incompatible food is an importance concept in modern
medical science and it described that regular consumption of
incompatible will lead to various pathological conditions. It is believed
that wrong food combination having opposite properties, processing in
wrong manure, excess food consumption, incompatible to time and
incompatible to season may leads Viruddha-Ahara (incompatible
foods).
