DENGUE FEVER WITH THROMBOCYTOPENIA: PEDIATRIC CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
Dengue viral infection is a global health threat and it is the most
rapidly spreading mosquito-borne viral disease in the world. A case of
9-year-old boy patient medically free presented to the emergency
department with high-grade fever for 4 days, on the 4th-day fever
subside, then patient developed abdominal pain and non-bloody
diarrhea, There was a positive family history of dengue fever in one of
the patient’s relatives. Laboratory finding showed thrombocytopenia
and leucopenia, further investigation was done and the patient
diagnosed with dengue fever and treated conservatively until
discharged.
