MANAGEMENT OF PLANTAR PSORIASIS(VIPADIKA) BY AYURVEDA: A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Psoriasis is a common, chronic, disfiguring inflammatory and proliferative condition of skin in which both genetic and environmental influences play a critical role. Apart from skin, it affects nails, joints and is now being described as a metabolic disorder. Plantar psoriasis is limited to the area of soles. In Ayurveda, plantar psoriasis comes under Vipadika. Vipadika is a type of Kshudrakushtha with vata and kapha involvement. In present case, 20yrs old male patient came at Twacharoga OPD with complaints of itching, fissuring and thickening and scaling on both soles. Patient got significant relief by Ayurvedic treatment. So it will be the documented evidence for future case studies. AIM: To evaluate the effect of Ayurvedic chikitsa in plantar psoriasis. OBJECTIVES: 1.To gather information about the concept of Plantar psoriasis (Vipadika) as per Ayurvedic and modern perspective. 2.To analyse the effect of Ayurvedic Chikitsa in Vipadika. Conclusion: Kushta being one of the chronic diseases with bahu doshavasta is difficult to cure, but can be managed by repeated Shodhana and appropriate Shamanoshadhi. In this paper, the symptoms of the patient were significantly reduced by Ayurvedic Chikitsa. In this way, successful management of plantar psoriasis has been done which will be a documented evidence for the future case studies.
