Athira J. R.*, Dr. Sruthi Renjan, Reshma Rajan and Radhika Nair
. Abstract Epididymo-orchitis is condition that involves the inflammation or infection of the epididymis, usually along with pain and swelling. It is the most common cause of intra scrotal inflammation. However, infection of the epididymis can spread to the adjacent testis making it difficult to distinguish the clinical entities involving them, thus the term Epididymo-Orchitis is used to capture these combined inflammatory processes. Orchitis (infections which are limited to the testes) are far less common. Acute epididymitis is characterized by symptoms that lasting for 6 weeks. Chronic epididymitis refers to epididymal pain and inflammation (usually without scrotal swelling) that lasts for about 3 months or longer. In patients with acute epididymo-orchitis, inflammatory responses in adjacent structures, such as the seminal vesicles, can occur and can lead to abscess formation. Here we report a case of successful epididymectomy (surgical removal of Epididymis) of a 58year old male patient was admitted with case of swelling and pain of scrotum for two weeks. Keywords: .
