Abstract

The Ayurveda idea of Dravyaguna Vigyan manages the overall standards identified with the Ayurveda pharmacognosy and pharmacology. Dravyaguna Vigyan works around Namajnana, Rupajnana, Gunajnana and Yuktijnana, and so forth Strict significance of word Dravya implies material or things and Guna implies properties, consequently Dravyaguna Vigyan bargains around properties of Dravya (drugs). Dravyaguna Vigyan relates pharmacological activities with Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipak and Prabhav of medications. According to Ayurveda Rasa, Guna, Virya, Vipak and Prabhav are innate properties of Ayurveda drugs which contributes towards the restorative activities of medications. This article introduced general standards of Dravyaguna and commitment of properties of Dravya towards pharmacological activities.
