ROLE OF NUTRACEUTICAL & HERBAL ADJUDANT IN THE CHEMOTHERAPY OF THE CANCER

. Abstract The third most common cause of mortality worldwide is cancer. The development of unanticipated side effects from existing cancer therapies like chemotherapy and radiotherapy lowers the quality of life and financial burden for oncology patients. Natural bioactive components in nutraceuticals and food value have reassuring medicinal capabilities in a number of ailments. Significantly interesting herbs have been shown to treat and prevent a variety of cancers as well as lessen the negative effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The effectiveness of herbal remedies and nutraceuticals for chemotherapy and chemoprevention is emphasized. We draw the conclusion that additional research is necessary to refute the specific strategies and effectiveness of herbs and nutraceuticals used as adjuvant therapy in cancer patients.
