ACUTE POST-OPERATIVE STROKE: A CURSE OF MUCORMYCOSIS IN COVID-19- A CASE REPORT

. Abstract The current COVID-19 pandemic is taking a heavy toll of lives. Post COVID-19 recovery patients are developing many complications including the rise of fungal infections especially mucormycosis. Rhino-orbital mucormycosis is common type of mucormycosis in post COVID-19 recovered patients. Neurological complications commonly occur with rhino-orbital mucormycosis infection but immediate postoperative stroke is rare. We report a case of 48 year old post COVID- 19 recovered diabetic patient with rhino-orbital mucormycosis posted for right orbital exenteration and nasal endoscopy developing acute non-hemorrhagic stroke in the immediate post-operative period.
