ROLE OF PANCHAVALKALA LEPA IN MANAGEMENT OF APAKWA PITTAJA VIDRADHI

. Abstract Vidradhi is one of the most common problems in day today life. The cardinal signs and symptoms of Vidradhi are Mahamoolam (deep situated), Rujavantam (causing pain), Vrutta (round), and Japya (spreading) in nature.[1] signs and symptoms of Vidradhi resemble the signs and symptoms of abscess explained in modern science. In Ayurvedic classics many modalities of management are explained such as shaman lepas and with abhyantara aushadhi prayoga. Sushrutacharya specified that, the surgeon should try to prevent ripening of the abscess; if that is not possible, success in treatment will be doubtful5. InPanchavalkala lepa in Apakwa pittaja Vidradhi is an ambulatory type of treatment which gives quick action and no side effects also can be used as better in avoiding suppuration.
