INCREASE USE OF LEVETIRACETAM IN WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE

. Abstract Epilepsy is one of the prevalent neurological disease and affects million of people world wide. It is important to properly manage epilepsy in pregnant women. The use of standard antiepileptic drugs (first generation) is slightly restricted due to there side effects and teratogenicity. As newer antiepileptics drugs (AEDs) are developed with improved treatment outcome and lesser adverse effects, their use in monotherapy for controlling seizures is increased. We completed this review with the conclusion that still lots of studies are going on, to get a complete information for better drug therapy in women of childbearing age.
