THE ROLE OF LEPTADENIA PYROTECHNICA IN DIABETES TYPE II: A REVIEW

.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM), a metabolic disease, is brought on by an issue with insulin secretion, action, or both. A lack of insulin results in chronic hyperglycemia, which affects protein, lipid, and carbohydrate metabolism. It is predicted that by the year 2010, there would be more than 200 million instances of DM worldwide, and by 2025, there will be 300 million cases, making it the most common endocrine illness. If the situation deteriorates, tissue or vascular damage takes place, leading to major diabetic complications such ulceration, retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy as well as cardiovascular problems. There are several different forms of diabetes mellitus, the two most common being type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The kind of diabetes that affects pregnant women is known as gestational diabetes. The first to acquire gestational diabetes are pregnant women who did not have the disease prior to being pregnant. In some women, gestational diabetes develops during many pregnancies. Gestational diabetes often appears in the middle of pregnancy. The primary focus of this narrative review is the medicinal potential of leptadenia pyrotechnica in the management and prevention of diabetes. This review provides an overview of I the molecular mechanisms of leptadenia pyrotechnica action that are crucial to their anti-diabetic properties, (ii) preclinical (in vitro and in vivo) studies evaluating the effects of leptadenia pyrotechnica on the function of key organs involved in the pathogenesis of diabetes, and (iii) epidemiological studies and clinical trials evaluating the effects. Leptadenia's effectiveness. The effects of these compounds on the gastrointestinal system, kidneys, and brain are also discussed, in addition to how leptadenia pyrotechnica affects the function of organs "classically" associated to the aetiology of diabetes, such as the pancreas, liver, muscles, and adipose tissue.

Keywords: Gestational diabetes, Leptadenia Pyrotechnica, Anti-Diabetes, Chemical Constituents.
