Generic drugs are as effective as their branded counterparts in terms of safety and efficacy. The selected generic and branded tables are coded as G1, G2, G3 and B1, B2, B3 respectively. Each tablet were evaluated for the official test like drug content, weight variation, thickness, friability, disintegration, dissolution, drug release kinetics. Non official test includes hardness test. The study revealed that branded as well as generic tablets comply with the standards provided in IP. From the results based on the evaluation parameters of tablets and in-vitro dissolution rate studies, the generic Medicines showed similar results as branded. And had identical quality and they fulfilled all the criteria prescribed by the IP.
