Abstract
COMBINED AQUEOUS LEAF EXTRACT OF VERNONIA AMYGDALINA AND MAGNIFERA INDICA MODULATES HEMATOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS IN DIABETIC RATS

Abstract The antioxidant efficacy of the leaves of Vernonia amygdalina and Magnifera indica were studied to ascertain the combined effects of the extract on some hematological and biochemical indices in alloxan induced diabetic rats. The rats were divided into four groups of three rats each. Group 1 was Normal control, group 2 was not treated i.e. diabetic untreated, and induced groups (3 and 4) which were administered with 300 and 500mg/kg of the extract respectively twice daily for a period of two weeks.
