DETECTION OF BIOACTIVE MOLECULES USING FLUORESCENCE ANALYSIS IN TRIDAX PROCUMBENS LINN.
Anushka Vohra* and Meenakshi Vaidya
. Abstract Tridax procumbens Linn. (Tridax) family Compositae or Asteraceae commonly known as „Ghamra‟ and in English popularly called „coat buttons‟ because of appearance of flowers has been extensively used in Ayurvedic system of medicine for various ailments and is dispensed for “Bhringraj” by some of the practitioners of Ayurveda which is well known medicine for liver disorders. Hence the current study to study the fluorescence analysis was undertaken to detect the presence of bioactive compounds in the plant. This analysis is important for the systematic study of the plant and will be useful in further analysis of the active constituents in the plant. The study and presence of bioactive compounds will help in the development of new drugs for the treatment of various ailments and designing of new formulations.
