YOUNG ADULTS STRESS LEVEL ASSESSMENT AT MATA GUJRI WOMEN'S COLLEGE, JABALPUR (M.P.) INDIA

. Abstract In this study, college students from Mata Gujri College in Jabalpur were asked about their levels of stress and their coping mechanisms. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect research data. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed, and 125 valid responses were obtained. With over 70% of students reporting high levels of stress, the results showed that there is a significant degree and frequency of stress among the participants. It was discovered that Exams, Workload, Results, Body Image, and Time Management were the main sources of stress. Stress will inevitably occur from time to time. A moderate amount of stress may even be beneficial, enabling us to push ourselves when faced with a challenging task. It is therefore even more crucial to master stress management techniques before you experience any negative effects. Physical and mental illnesses are manifestations of these stress-related disorders. Highest % (41) of participant’s revealed irritability, 39% showed tiredness, 35% headache, 31% emotional 18% worrying. Cravings or loss of appetite was revealed by 10 and 5% respectively. Only 4% showed insomnia. To cope up with different types of stress, the highest % of students prefer listening to music and talking with friends, some like to sleep, others prefer to read, work or eat.
