A REVIEW ON PALITYA (GRAYING OF HAIR) AS PER AYURVEDA

. Abstract Hair is one of the factor of expression and is associated with selfassurance. Any modifications to this will be associated with emotional problems, and one such disorder resulting is graying hair. Premature graying, which is also known as Akaala Palitya in Ayurveda, is the term used to describe hair that greys early in life. Premature Canities which can be compared to Akala Palitya in Ayurveda, according to the Trichological Society, are pigment deficiencies that are frequently observed in middle-aged persons of either gender. Akala palitya is the outcome of the Pitta dosha escalating which can be caused by a numerous things, including stress, pollution, poor eating habits, heredity, etc. Premature greying reduces one's self-confidence, leading them to try different home cures, chemical colors, etc. without any desired effect. According to Ayurveda, Palitya is a discolouration of scalp hair due to agantuja and doshaja Nidana. Each samhita provides a different context in view to explain the palitya illness like Charaka Samhita kala Akala Palitya is mentioned under Sirogata vyadhi, whereas other authors explained it in Sirokapalagata roga and Kshudrarogadhikara. Global interest these days is developing towards Ayurveda to face the Challenge be it preventive aspect or curative treatment method of pacification, management of disease in its initial stage or final stage. The goal of the current study was to compile all available material on Palitya from various Ayurvedic literature in one location and to properly explain this knowledge.
