ROLE OF AGAD TANTRA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL EMERGENCIES: AN AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE
*Dr. Prashant Tukaram Malage, Dr. Rabiya Sattar Shirgave
Abstract Agad Tantra, one of the eight classical branches of Ayurveda (Ashtanga Ayurveda), primarily deals with toxicology and the management of poisons originating from animate (Jangama), inanimate (Sthavara), and artificial (Kritrima) sources. In the contemporary era, medical emergencies such as poisoning, envenomation, drug toxicity, food poisoning, and environmental toxin exposure pose significant global health challenges. Classical Ayurvedic texts describe detailed symptomatology, pathogenesis, prognosis, and management protocols for various toxicological emergencies. This paper explores the conceptual framework of Agad Tantra and its applicability in present-day medical emergencies, emphasizing its integrative potential with modern emergency care. Keywords: Agad Tantra, Toxicology, Medical Emergencies, Visha Chikitsa, Ayurveda, Emergency Management. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
