A REVIEW OF HERBAL SHAMPOO BAR
Ancy R., Sana Hani S., Reshma K. J.
Abstract Herbal solid shampoo bars have gained increasing attention as an alternative to conventional liquid shampoos due to their convenience, portability, and environmental benefits. They offer the advantages of reduced water content, minimal packaging, and ease of storage and transportation. Shampoo bars are designed to cleanse the hair and scalp by removing dirt, excess oil, and other impurities while maintaining hair cleanliness and manageability. The development of herbal solid shampoo bars combines traditional herbal approaches with modern cosmetic formulation techniques. Their quality and performance can be assessed through various evaluation parameters, including physical appearance, pH, hardness, wetting time, foaming ability, foam stability, cleansing efficiency, and storage stability. However, achieving appropriate hardness, satisfactory foaming, effective cleansing, and good stability remains a formulation challenge. Further research is required to establish their safety, effectiveness, and long-term benefits. Overall, herbal solid shampoo bars represent a promising and sustainable approach to modern hair-care product.
