SYNTHESIS, SPECTRAL CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL STUDIES OF COPPER (II) COMPLEX CONTAINING MIXED LIGANDS NITROGEN-OXYGEN DONOR SCHIFF BASE (4-BROMO-(2-CARBOXYPHENYL)-PYRIDINE-2YL ETHYLENE AMINE) AND 2,2’ BIPYRIDINE

Abstract Hexacoordinated copper (II) complex of general formula [CuL(bipy)ClO4]ClO4 was prepared by using Schiff base 4-bromo- (2- carboxyphenyl)-pyridine-2-yl ethylene amine, secondary ligand 2, 2’- bipyridine and copper perchlorate with 1:1:1 molar ratio. Distorted octahedron structure was elucidated on the basis of elemental analyses, IR, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity(ClO4). We report synthesis, spectral characterization and anti-breast cancer activity study of copper (II) complex of mixed ligands Schiff base, 4-bromo-(2-carboxyphenyl)-pyridine-2-yl ethylene amine and 2, 2’- bipyridine. Keywords: Schiff base, 4-bromo- (2-carboxyphenyl)-pyridine-2-yl ethylene amine, 2,2’-bipyridine, copper (II) complex, antimicrobial studies. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
