“DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF UV SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR SAROGLITAZAR IN BULK AND PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORMâ€

Abstract A new, simple, precise, accurate, reproducible, economical and sensitive UV ‐ Spectrophotometric method has been developed for the estimation of Saroglitazar in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form. Saroglitazar was dissolved in methanol-water system in the ratio of 50:50 and exhibited absorption maximum at 293 nm with mean recovery of 100.3%. The drug follows Beer’s Law in the concentration range of 2-12 μg/ml. The LOD and LOQ were found to be 0.29μg/ml and 0.88μg/ml respectively. Methanol-Water was used as solvent.
