Abstract

Mouth dissolving strips are oral drug delivery system, which disintegrate or dissolve within a minute when placed in the mouth without drinking of water or chewing. Worldwide gaining interest as an alternative to fast dissolving tablets to definitely eliminate patient’s fear of chocking and also for pediatric and geriatric patients who experience difficulties swallowing traditional oral solid dosage forms. Mouth dissolving strips suited for the drugs which undergo high first pass metabolism and is used for improving bioavailability with reducing dosing frequency to mouth plasma peak levels, which in turn minimize adverse effects and also make it cost effective.
