REVIEW ON ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF BENZIMIDAZOLE CONTAINING COMPOUNDS

Abstract

Benzimidazole and its derivatives are involved in variety of biological and chemical processes. Some of their poly functional derivatives have possessed antibacterial, fungicidal and anthelmintic activities. Therefore, substituted benzimidazole is interest of various research groups, labs and pharmaceutical companies especially, it has been reported that the introduction of various groups at 1, 2 and 5 and other positions of the benzimidazole ring is very important for their effective pharmacological effects.
