IN-VITRO AND KINETIC STUDIES OF IMMEDIATE RELEASE SORAFINAB TOSYLATE FILM COATED TABLETS
*V. Mallikarjun and P. Rajasridhar Rao
Abstract The present work is to formulate and evaluate immediate release tablets of Sorafenib tosylate film coated tablets. Sorafenib is used in hepatic cellular carcinoma which is insoluble in water. Tablets were prepared by wet granulation method. Advantia prime pink, Hypromellose was dissolved in water and used as coating solution for coating on compressed tablets. Eight different formulations were made (F1-F8) using different super disintegrating agents like sodium starch glycolate, Croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone in different concentrations. Aveosil used as diluents, magnesium sterate as lubricant. FTIR studies revealed that there was no interaction between drug and excipients. Pre-compression evaluation indicated that flow behavior of powders was found to be good and passable. In-vitro dissolution studies for eight formulations were between 61-97.6%. Results revealed that F8 formulation was found to be optimized with drug release of 97.6% in 30min. Kinetic studies for F8 formulation showed that optimized formulation followed first order kinetics with fickian diffusion. Keywords: Immediate release, film coated, super disintegrating agents.
