AGE AND GENDER WISE DISTRIBUTION PATTERN OF TYPHOID CAUSING BACTERIA SALMONELLA SEROVARS IN MAHAKAUSHAL REGION

Abstract
The present study was undertaken to determine the diversity andoccurrence of serovars of genus Salmonella, in the clinical samples oftyphoid positive patients from different geographical area in andaround Mahakaushal region of Madhya Pradesh. In this study, theisolation of Salmonella from clinical samples taken from variousdistricts indicates the wide spread distribution of Salmonella indifferent age groups at Mahakaushal regions. The occurrence ofSalmonella was not confined to a particular location as Salmonella wasrecovered from all areas sampled. Salmonella is widespread and manyof the serotypes can infect animals and humans. Infection may causepathological conditions resulting in morbidity and mortality. Thedetection of Salmonella in food and water is therefore important in the prevention of suchinfections. Investigation was aimed to explore the diversity of Salmonella Serovars by meansof cultural and biochemical characteristics.
