PREPARATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL LIPSTICK

Abstract
This can be observed from the fact that lipsticks are marketed in
hundred of shades of colours to satisfy the demand of women. The
present investigation was done to formulate herbal lipstick, since
lipsticks are one of the key cosmetics to be used by the women. Due to
various adverse effects of available synthetic preparation the present
work was conceived by us to formulate a herbal lipstick having
minimal or no side effects. The herbal lipstick was formulated as
prepare adequately supported by efficacy and general method of
normal lipstick safety data documented in scientific formulation. The
ingredients used in the literature. Among the more popular
formulations of a herbal lipstick are functional natural ingredients several Coconut oil- 16 gm
Cocoa butter - 28 gm Bees was- 36 gm Beet root juice-6gm (colouring agent) Or Bixa
orelanna-6gm (colouring agent) Rose essence-0.1ml Vanilla essence-QS. All the ingredients
were mixed in a crushed or dried and powdered form, their definite ratio by melting cocoa
butter and incorporation into existing cosmetic bees wax at a low flame and then moulded
formulations presents unique challenges in a suitable mould (Moulding method) to In recent

The evaluation parameters found to be colour-red, pH 6.5+-0.3, melting point-60-61,
breaking point-31, thixotrophy character-9, perfume stability- good, force of applicationgood,
surface anomalies - no defect, aging stability- smooth, solubility test- chloroform
soluble.
