GLIMPSE ON STHAULYA PATHOLOGY IN VARIOUS AYURVEDA TEXTBOOKS

Abstract Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much bodyfats that it might have a negative effect on their health. In Ayurveda,Obesity can be correlated with Sthaulya or Medoroga. Today, one cansee a huge gap in society where some people are in trouble due tooverweight while some are suffering from malnutrition. Obesity is anon communicable disorder but its increasing rate is escalating aburden on society. For understanding a disease it is very important toknow the complete pathophysiology of it prior going to the treatmentpart to get fruitful results of selected treatment plan. Ayurveda has avery promising role in Sthaulya management. So, here an effort hasbeen made to throw a light on Sthaulya Pathology described in variousAyurveda Texts.
