Abstract

The new era of Globalization and upgrading technology is continuously developing at a lightening speed. At the same time, the air pollution and respiratory problems like asthma, PTB are emerging in society with same speed. Vardhaman Pippali mentioned in the च.चच.1/3/36-40 and वा.उ. 39/98-100 is the rasayana which works on diseases of Pranavaha strotasa and can be used to improve its function physiologically if used in healthy individuals. Though Brihattrayi has not describe the physiology of Pranavaha strotasa seperately, they have described the pathological symptoms of the strotasa in Cha.Vi. 5. So, to assess the Pranvaha Strotasa in an objective view, we have to assess lung functions at first. For this purpose Spirometry can be used.
