ROLE OF LASHUNA (Allium sativum) IN AARTAVA KSHAYA W.S.R TO HYPOMENORRHOEA

Abstract
Gynecological health is an important component of Woman’s health status. Chronic gynecological conditions in females like menstrual disorders, vaginal discharges, uterine fibroids, prolapsed and endometriosis etc have a poor impact on health and quality of life of women. Lashuna (Allium sativum) is an ancient herb which has a great value in chronic female disorders. Acharya Kashyapa have considered it as Rasayan drug in Lashuna Kalpadhyaya and has quoted that women using Lashuna do not suffer from diseases of kati, shroni (pelvis, gramyadharma janya rogas (sexually transmitted diseases) and infertility. In this article the benefits of Lashuna are discussed in context to Hypomenorrhoea and Oligomenorrhoea along with its pharmacological actions based upon chemical constituents.
