A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF KATI BASTI AND MATRA BASTI OF NIRGUNDI TAIL ON GHRUDHRASI

Abstract Altered food habits and habitates in the present era has enhancing various neurological and musculoskeletal disorders. According to Ayurved these conditions are called as Vata vyadhis wchich are increasing day by day due to changing life style. There are 80 types of Vatavyadhis. These vatavyadhis occurs due to Dhatukshaya and Margavarodha. Ghrudhrasi is one of the Vatavyadhi in which Vatavyadhi and Kaphavata dushti takes place. In Ayurved Basti is the therapy for any vatavyadhi. There are fur types of Snehadravya described in Ayurved i.e. Ghruta, Taila, Vasa and Majja. Taila or Oil is a drug of choice for Vatavyadhi. Medicated Oils are utilized for Basti purpose. When Oil is used for giving Basti it is called as Anuvasan Basti. Matra Basti is one of the type of Anuvasan Basti. When the medicatewd oil is placed over Kati Pradesh and kept for some specified period it is called as Kati basti. Charakarya has given Nirgundi Tail for the management of Ghrudhrasi. In the present research the same Nirgundi Tail was utilized for Matra Basti as well as Kati Basti purpose. The detailed results, Observations will be discussed along with the Conclusion in the paper.
