Abstract Acute rupture of the Achilles tendon is often a surgical emergency that requires primary repair. There has been a long history of surgical versus non-surgical repair of the Achilles tendon. Rarely in partial interstitial rupture, immobilization and non-surgical treatment such as casting is opted for.
