THE EFFICACY OF DEXAMETHASONE AND PROPOFOL IN THE PREVENTION OF POSTOPERATIVE NAUSEA AND VOMITING AFTER LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY

Abstract Background: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are one of the most common complaints following anesthesia and surgery. This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of dexamethasone, propofol to prevent PONV in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods: 119 patients were included in this randomized, Results: Dexamethasone was more effective in preventing PONV than propfol.
