LOWER EXTREMITY BLOOD FLOW VELOCITY IN PREGNANT WOMEN
*Alyaa Rabeea Salman and Muntaha Omar Mustafa
Abstract
The data demonstrate that venous blood volume flow in the lower
extremities was higher in the 10 obese pregnant women compared with
the 10 nonobese pregnant women in our study. Future research is
warranted in both the antepartum and postpartum periods to further
delineate the changes in venous hemodynamics during pregnancy.
Thus, the increased risk of VTE among obese pregnant women may
not be caused by venous stasis.
