HORROR OF EBOLA HAEMORRAGE FEVER: A REVIEW

Abstract Ebola virus disease is an acute viral hemorrhagic syndrome marked by fever, systemic hemorrhage, and high mortality. It affects humans and monkeys and has appeared in epidemic form in West Africa and Germany. Ebola virus disease (EVD), formerly known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a serious, often fatal disorder in humans. Ebola virus (EBOV) is spread through contact with blood or body fluids of a person who contacted or died from EVD, infected objects like needles and infected animals or bush meat. The EVD is a very serious health problem causing major deaths within a short period duration. As there are no specific treatment or vaccines available, prevention is the only option to control the spread of disease.
