PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT OF KHALITYA – AN ANALYTICAL REVIEW

Abstract Ayurveda is the only science which gives more importance on preventation of disease and maintenance of health rather than treating any disease. This is achieved only through following strict pathyaapathya. Hair fall is most commonly prevalent in people who have a family history of hair fall, genetic factor plays major role in this. Some hormones also trigger hair loss which usually begins during puberty time. Other factor such as traumatic, surgeries and major illnesses, use of medication, depression, autoimmune disease, nutritional deficiencies, shock etc. can also triggers hair fall. Ayurvedic expert believe that approximately 50% of Indian women and men both are losing hair faster than ever. Let’s be honest, the current beauty industry has destroyed hair care with generic formulations, diluted and poor quality oils. Even through natural sciences are considered beneficial, it has hardly shown any results. The truth is, hair fall is a complex problem. In fact, Ayurveda believes, it’s the effect of internal imbalances. So it understand the root cause of current hair fall. Ayurveda play best result to prevent hair fall and regrow of hair through herbal products and lifestyle modification. It has been observed that many herbs and their extract are used for hair regrow and hair fall activities some are described as Petroleum ether extract of Tridax procumbens showed luxurious growth and hair fall in albino rats. Combined extract Emblica officinalis, Aloe vera Tourn, Nardostachys jatamansi, Azadirachta indica, Cyperus rotundus and Corchorus etc. prevent the hairs falling and enhancement of hairs growth activity.
