Abstract
A simple, rapid, accurate, economical, and precise UV/VIS novel approach has been developed and validated as per standard guidelines. Choices of a universal solvent were essential, so various solvent ranges including methanol, ethanol, acetonitrile and phosphate buffer, and different concentrations ranges of different, multiple cushions, barriers were analyzed. Among these 0.1N HCl has shown better results than the other solvents at 229nm, hence the water was selected as a solvent for the presented approach. Metoprolol showed maximum absorbance at 229 nm. The Linearity was observed in the concentration range of 1- 10 μg mL-1 for Metoprolol. The correlation coefficients were found to be 0.9916. The percentage recoveries for Metoprolol were found in the field of 98.66-101.25%. The method was quantitatively evaluated in terms of linearity, accuracy, precision, ruggedness, robustness, and recovery. The technique was simple, convenient, and suitable for the determination of Metoprolol from bulk and tablet dosage forms.
