Abstract

Ayurveda plays vital role in curing Arsha [Heamorrhoids] without surgical intervention there are so many herbal drug having Arshoghna property. Many treatment modalities have been explained in Brihattrayi i.e Charak, Sushruta, & Vagbhata. In Arsha management, the systemic medicines act by improving appetite, regularize bowl habits, astringent action on blood vessels & maintaining Agni & Strotas in equilibrium.Among all the Arshoghna drugs described in Brihattrayi maximum drug are Tikta or Katu or Kashaya Rasa Pradhana & Most of the drug are Ushna in Virya.It can also be said that the drugs having Katu, Tikta, Kashaya Rasa, Laghu & Ruksha Guna, Ushna Virya & Katu Vipaka play major role in the treatment of Arsha. The review made a humble effort to highlight the ‘Arshoghna Dravyas from Brihattrayi’ as a natural & safe remedy treatment of Arsha.
