AMINO ACIDS COMPOSITION OF TWO ULVA SPECIES FROM SOUTHEAST COAST OF TAMIL NADU, INDIA

Abstract The aim of the present study concentrated on amino acids content of two green algal seaweeds namely Ulva fasciata, and Ulva intestinalis collected from southeast coast of Tamil Nadu, India. Amino acids of the seaweeds were evaluated by using HPLC. Depending on the species, the quantity of each amino acid varied. Of the total amino acids, essential amino acids were higher than non-essential amino acids in two seaweeds investigated.
