QSAR STUDIES ON BENZOXAZOLES AND OXAZOLO PYRIDINES AS ANTIFUNGAL AGENTS
Bhupendra Kumar Verma, Shailja Sachan*, Balendra Sing and Prabhanand Patel
Abstract Quantitative Structure Activity relationship is a computationalstatistical method which gives a data set to predict the biologicalactivity. A QSAR study has been carried out on 30 molecules ofbenzoxzoles and oxazol pyridines in order to determine the structuralproperties required for antifungal activity. Topological andconnectivity descriptors are used for best model with r2=0.8616,r2adj=0.8394. Cross validation is also carried out. The model thusobtained from this study can be useful for the designing anddevelopment of new potential antimicrobial agents. Keywords: Antimicrobial, Benzoxazoles, Indicator descriptor, QSAR.
