BROMOCRIPTIN AND PERGOLIDE TREATMENT ON PARKINSON DISEASE

Abstract Parkinson disease (PD) was first described by dr. James Parkinson in 1817 as “shaking palsy” (DeMaagd and Philip, 2015). PD is a disease with a degenerative process involving dopaminergic neurons in substantia nigra (the area of basal ganglia which produces and stores dopamine neurotransmitter). This area is important in extrapyramidal system which controls posture and coordination of body movements (Wagner, 2008).
