A CRITICAL REVIEW ON MEDICINAL PLANT ANISOMELES INDICA (LINN.)

Abstract
Plants are an important members of ethno pharmacology and directly
used as medicines by a majority of cultures around the world.
Medicinal plants have been used since ages for prevention and
treatments of various ailments. Anisomeles indica is such a wonderful
medicinal plant. This review article will collect the detailed description
of synonyms, vernacular name, habitat, botanical description, ethnomedicinal
uses, properties, chemical constituents, pharmacological
uses of Anisomeles indica (Linn.). Anisomeles indica (Linn.) Kuntze
belongs to Lamiaceae family commonly known as ‘Indian Catmint’
and its vernacular names Kala bhangra, Gobara, Chodharo, Gopali etc.
Leaves, root, seeds, stem and essential oil are the most commonly useful part. This possess
significant Anti-Inflammatory, Antioxidant, Anti-Thrombin and Inhibition of Platelet
Aggregation, Anti - Helicobacter Pylori Activity, Antibacterial and H. pylori Inflammatory
Inhibition, Inhibitory effect on Antibiotic Resistant Urinary Tract Pathogens, Analgesic and
