Abstract Polycystic ovary syndrome is now a well-recognized condition affecting 6%-25% of reproductive-aged women, depending on the definition. Women with PCOS have a hormonal imbalance and metabolism problems that may affect their overall health and appearance. PCOS is also a common and treatable cause of infertility. It is a condition that can affect your periods, fertility, hormones and aspects of your appearance. It can also affect your long-term health. polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex condition that is most often diagnosed by the presence of hyperandrogenism, ovulatory dysfunction, and polycystic ovaries. Also a careful, targeted history and physical examination are required to ensure appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
