A CASE STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFICACY OF ‘SAMSHODHANOTTA LEPA CHIKITSA_ACHIKITSA SIDDHANT’ IN THE MANAGEMENT OF DADRU

Abstract
Skin diseases are becoming very common now a days. In Ayurveda all
the skin disease considered in Kushtha. Kushtha is further categorised
into Maha Kushtha and Kshudra Kushtha. Acharya Charaka has
depicted Dadru as a Kshudra Kushtha, while according to modern
sciences fungal diseases caused by fungus Tinea resembles Dadru.
Dadru is a Kapha Pitta Pradhan Kushtha vyadhi. The management of
Dadru includes Shodhana, Shamana and Bahiparimarjana Chikitsa.In
the Bahiparimarjana chikitsa generally every Ayurvedic practitioner
prefers application of lepa, but according to Acharya Charaka
Samshodhanottar Lepa Chikitsa i.e. if the application of lepa is done
after Raktamokshan then it is more effective and reduses Dadru in
relatively less time.
