A CASE REPORT OF SCRUB TYPHUS AT A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL, BANGALORE

Abstract
Although scrub typhus is endemic in our country, it is grossly under diagnosed due to non-specific clinical presentation and lack of access to specific diagnostic facilities and low suspicion index by physicians. [1] Scrub typhus is a mite borne infectious disease caused by “Orientia tsutsugamushi” with clinical manifestations such as fever, rash, myalgia’s, headacheorwithorgan dysfunctionssuchasliver(Hepatitis), kidney(Acutekidneyfailure), CNS(Meningitis), lungs(Acute respiratory distress syndrome) or with hemorrhagic features with circulatory collapse. [1] We are reporting a case of scrub typhus presenting as fever along with bilateral brochovascular markings.
