Abstract AzhalKeel Vaayu(Osteoarthritis) primarily affects the elderly population. It is a major cause of disability in older adults worldwide.[1] According to World Health Organization 9.6% of men and 18.0% of women aged over 60 years have symptomatic Osteoarthritis (OA) worldwide. 80% of them have limitations in movement, and 25% cannot perform their major daily activities of life.[2] It is the second most common rheumatologic problem and it is the most frequent joint disease with a prevalence of 22% to 39% in India.[3,4] Azhal Keel Vaayu (OA) is a chronic degenerative disorder of multifactorial etiology characterized by the loss of articular cartilage, hypertrophy of bone at the margins, subchondral sclerosis, and range of biochemical and morphological alterations of the synovial membrane and joint capsule.[3] The most common risk factors for OA include age, gender, prior joint injury, obesity, genetic predisposition, and mechanical factors, including malalignment and abnormal joint shape.[5] Keywords: .
