Abstract
Ayurveda is one of the most ancient medical sciences of the world. The
science is based on the laws of Nature. Ayurveda gives more
importance to health over beauty Or in other words “healthy is
beautiful” according to Ayurveda. Vyanga is a type of Kshudra roga,
characterized by Niruja(painless), Shyava varna mandalas (bluish
black patches) occurring especially on the face. Now a days Vyanga
has become a common problem of the society and many people are
suffering from Vyanga today. Jalaukavacharna has been indicated in
raktamokshana of Pitta dushta rakta by Acharya Sushruta. In Vyanga
there is involvement of pitta dosha, hence it is proposed to carry out
comparative study on Vyanga with jalaukavacharna. Bahi
parimarjana chikitsa (external applications) has a major role to play in
the treatment of Vyanga. Eladi gana is basically meant for the task of
restoring the natural colour and complexion of the body. In Eladi gana, there are 28 drugs all
are varna prasadana and kandu pidika kotha nashna. The drugs which constitute the Eladi
gana lepa bestow the normal varna by virtue of their properties and actions, hence it is
proposed to carry out comparative study on Vyanga with Eladi gana lepa.
