A CASE REPORT ON OBSTETRIC BRACHIAL PLEXUS PALSY

Abstract
The brachial plexus palsy or Erb’s Palsy is considered as injury to the
brachial plexus due to dystochia more commonly. The paralysis of the
either or both the upper limbs is the characteristic feature. This has to
taken as the karmahaani of the vatadosha. Ekanga vata described in
the literature can be tallied with the presentation of BPP. A Male child
aged 10 years presented with Obstetric Brachial Plexus Palsy of
bilateral limbs with a power of grade 2 in both proximal muscle
groups. He was treated according to vatasyopakrama and Kshirabala
Rasayana. The treatment showed marked improvement in the
functional ability of the child along with an increase in the power of
the muscle groups.
