ROLE OF AYURVEDA IN MANAGEMENT OF DADRU KUSTH (FUNGAL INFECTION- TINEA): A CASE STUDY

Abstract All the skin diseases in Ayurveda have been discussed under the broad heading of Kushta, which are further divided into Mahakustha and Kshudra Kushta. Dadru Kustha is a disease mainly affecting the beauty of the patient and reoccurrence of disease is very common thus its management would be challenging task. This paper highlights a case study of Dadru kustha (Fungal infection) treated with the Ayurvedic principles in particular Shodhana Chikitsa. Here a case report of a 18 years-male having with the complaint of Central cleared round red colour big patches and pimples on his face, neck, lower abdomen and groin region with Intense Itching since 6 months. He was treated with Panchkarma procedure (Virechan Karma) and some Ayurvedic herbo mineral formulations which give significant result in Dadru Kustha.
