CONCEPT OF GARBHA SAMBHAV SAMUGRI WITH DIFFERENT APPROACH

Abstract Ayurveda is ancient science. Human anatomy, physiology, pathology of disease, pharmacology of ayurvedic drugs are well described in ayurvedic literature. Pregnancy is a physiological state of woman. In ayurveda, the matter related to concepts of Garbha and Garbhotpatti is described systematically. Essential elements for conception are described as Garbha sambhav samugri. Healthy status of all these four elements is essential for conception and healthy pregnancy outcome. Infertility may occur if there is any abnormality in these elements. Male is also equally important for conception. Age of male, healthy status of male genitals, nutritional status of male, and quantity and quality of sperm are basic elements for conception and so can be understood with Rutu, Kshetra, Ambu & beej. This approach will help to understand concept of garbha sambhav samugri in order to understand the etiology of male infertility and so support view to consider as basic element for conception.
